Acute Coronary Syndromes

Welcome to the sixth course in the Capsules series! This module will focus on the management of Acute Coronary Syndromes from a pharmacology perspective.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand general management of ACS in pre-hospital and ED setting
  • Evaluate mainstays of ACS pharmacotherapy (i.e. MONA)
  • Discuss the selection of appropriate anti-coagulation (monitoring, reversal, contraindications)
  • Optimize pharmacotherapy within first 24 hours (BB, CCB, ACEi, aldosterone, etc)
  • Describe indications for thrombolysis in the ED
